Questions about a ritual, Morwen’s voice, or your journal?

How a working goes

Tap Enter the chamber, open the Spellfold book and turn to any page, or try Tonight’s page or the wand button, Let Morwen choose. Tap the page, then Prepare the altar.

Find the curios Morwen asks for, tap Begin, and follow the four short gestures while she performs the spell. When it’s sealed, keep it in your journal. Pause leaves the altar exactly as it was; you can come back later.

Finding the curios

Morwen describes each curio in a riddle instead of naming it, and her shelf mixes the spell’s three curios with a few strangers. Tap the one you think she means. A wrong guess only earns a teasing reply; after two misses, the right curio glimmers.

Tap a curio already on the altar to put it back. Every curio’s riddle and story is in the Curios cabinet in the chamber.

The gestures

Rituals ask you to wake curios in a named order, join the stars of a school’s sigil (drag through them or tap each in turn), touch, hold or trace the seal, or pause for one slow breath. The last step closes the Spellfold: tap Gather the pages, then Open & release.

With VoiceOver, every gesture has a labeled control you can activate with a double-tap. Reduce Motion is honored throughout.

Morwen’s voice and sound

Morwen’s voice is generated on your device, so the first line can take a moment. Captions are on by default; turn them on or off with the speech-bubble button under Morwen or in Settings, where music, sound effects and her voice each have their own switch.

Hear nothing? Morwen’s voice follows the Ring/Silent switch, so check it and your volume. If her voice is unavailable, her words always appear as text.

Personal spells

Tell Morwen what’s on your mind, or whisper an intention on any altar, and she can write words just for you with Apple’s on-device model. This needs a device that supports Apple Intelligence with it turned on, and enough free space and charge for the model.

If personal words aren’t available, Morwen says so and uses the Spellfold’s own words instead. Everything else works on any supported device.

On iPhone Duo

The hinge is the Spellfold’s binding. In the Spellfold, fold your Duo gently and open it again to turn the page. On a ritual’s last step, the same fold seals the working. Closing the device completely never casts anything.

Prefer taps? Turn off Fold gestures in Settings; the on-screen buttons always work.

Your journal

Sealed spells are kept in your journal with your intention, the words and any thought you leave. Pages you’ve cast get a wax seal in the Spellfold. Open a journal page to add notes in the margin, Share this page as text, or remove it.

The journal lives only on your device. Deleting the app deletes it, so share pages you want to keep elsewhere first.

Is the magic real?

Spellfold is imaginative entertainment. Morwen, her spells and rituals are fictional and can’t change events or anyone’s feelings, and nothing in the app replaces professional advice. Every flame and curio stays inside the app: never burn or swallow anything to follow a ritual.
